SPONSOR A CHILD

Sponsoring a child residing with the House of Peace is one of the best ways possible to get involved with ICMC. When you sponsor  a child (for only $25/month), you are sponsoring a real child. You will receive the history of the child, telling how they came to the House of Peace, their birth date, a picture of the child, and someone who will pray for you on a daily basis.

These children are very real and, unlike other organizations out there, you can actually visit your child by going to stay in the International Guest House. The joy of actually visiting a child whose life is being made better by you is something that is difficult to put into words.

$25 per month is all that it takes to provides food, clothing, a place to belong, an education, and an opportunity for a child to learn Christian values and ethics. The money that you invest on a child at House of Peace will go a long way in a child' life.

The child(ren) you sponsor will become part of your life. They will pray for you and write you and appreciate letters from you too. Soon we hope to have available online where you can simply email your adopted God-child(ren) and get responses back from them via email too.

As our title verse says, "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress..." (James 1:27 NIV)

"When we open the mail and there’s a letter from India, from one of our god-children, my kids are jumping up and down, because they have come to love these children..."  says a sponosor from USA.

BE AN ANGEL of Love to a child at ICMC TODAY!

Message from the President

India’s children are amongst the poorest and most deprived on earth and Danny Boyle’s brilliant Oscar winning film Slumdog Millionaire vividly captures the hardship and misery suffered by so many in India’s cities.

The orphaned and abandoned children on India’s streets are trapped in urban poverty and crushed by India’s caste system. Many endure intolerable conditions working in sweat-shops and survive by scavenging and living on city streets.

Rural children fare no better, food insecurity is such that India tops the United Nations World Hunger Chart with malnutrition accounting for nearly 50% of all child deaths.

The Indian Christian Mission Center (ICMC) was founded by the Rev. Jayaraj Krishnan and his wife Christy. Since Jayaraj and his wife opened their gates to give sanctuary and minister to the widows and orphans of Salem, some 200 miles south of Chennai.

On behalf of Jayaraj and Christy along with their children David, Neva and Bright I would like to thank every one of you who has given much needed support to ICMC, the Indian Christian Mission Center, founded by them 25 years ago in August 1988.

Over the years this remarkable family have looked after thousands of orphans and semi- orphans and the generosity and love you have shown has helped the mission through economically straightened times. No child is ever turned away from the gates of the Promised Land and currently more than 800 unbelievably poor children are cared for by ICMC.

My own children Olivia, Dolly and Jody chanced upon the orphanage more than ten years ago and as a family, we are passionately committed to supporting and fund-raising for a better future for these children.

Children with sponsors feel blessed to receive such wonderful support from faithful donors around the world who are touched by their plight.

During the past year more and more of you are sponsoring orphans and the children feel so blessed to receive such wonderful support from so many faithful donors around the world who are touched by their plight.

With the benefit of regular donations, sponsored events and some quite outstanding acts of individual generosity, we have been able to care for the children, educate them and also finance major projects for the mission.

Thank you so very much for your compassion and generosity of spirit towards them.

With my very best wishes

Nicholas Wainwright – President

Help Them Learn

article 1

Helping children acquire education is one of the most fruitful accomplishments. Experience shows that learning attacks poverty at its roots. An educated mind and an enlightened spirit makes thoughtful and informed decisions. Education positively affects people's lives, families, communities and eventually the world at large. ICMC plays a significant role in providing quality education to children.

Creating schooling opportunities for a comprehensive development of a child has become the key point of our service. Sadly speaking, India has the greatest number of child labourers and school drop-outs in the world. This, of course, is attributed to poverty and the lack of an inclusive as well as a flexible education programme. We, at ICMC, endeavour to curb this ever-widening ratio by helping a child receive formal education at the right age.

Bring A Smile :)

article 2

Poverty is one of the deadliest scourges that has afflicted mankind since ages. In India, statistical surveys reveal an alarming increase in the number of poor people day-by-day. If the ratio of poor increases at such a quick pace matters will infallibly become worse. As a result, a poor family finds it extremely difficult and even impossible to make its ends meet. Thus, the burden of poverty upon the poor masses in India is indeed shocking. Innocent little children are the worst sufferers in this regard. The future of millions of children in India has become bleak and uncertain owing to poverty.

We, at ICMC, do our best to feed the deprived children and strive to add essence to their lives by uplifting their standards and offering them a healthy lifestyle and above all telling them about the love of Christ. Your kind donations and sponsorships will definitely be instrumental in reaching out to such poor and needy children.

25 Years of Walking In Faith

A Generation has passed but Dr. Jay is still a young lad at heart! ICMC invites everyone to join hand with us to celebrate God's faithfulness towards this mission for the past 25 years!
