Leper Ministry

In India, lepers are considered as "untouchables" and nobody comes forward to help them because it is assumed they have done something wrong in a previous life, according to the Hindu doctrine of Karma. Jesus had a special place in His heart for lepers, and although we receive no direct support for our leprosy ministry, we care for approximately 500 lepers in our area by giving them food and clothing whenever we have any money to spare (usually three times a year). We talk to them about Jesus Christ, and many of them have admitted their children into the ICMC.

Consistent healthcare for several hundred children is always a challenge.  Currently, there is are "sick rooms" at the Promised Land, with two onsite nurses.  Because of more resources, the nutrition and living conditions of the children have improved, which contributes to better health for the children.  Current projects include an immunization program, hiring more qualified medical staff on-site, continuing to improve living conditions, sanitation, good health habits, and nutrition. The eventual plans are to build an on-site Hospital at the Promised Land that would also be accessible for surrounding villagers in and around salem district.

The Christian Mission Hospital's construction work for the hospital is under way. The aim of this hospital is to serve the poor and tribal village people in and around Salem. This mission hospital will be a great help to all the needy people who could not afford proper healthcare.
